Taster Day for Entry into Years 1 - 6
After registering for a place, all pupils from Year 1 and above are invited into school for a Taster Day. The children spend a day in their future class and get to experience life at Claires Court. The Taster Day also includes assessments of both literacy and numeracy skills with our specialist staff. This assessment enables us to best support and plan for their transition to us.
Discovery Day for Year 7 Entry
Our Discovery Days, held in spring, are specifically dedicated for external pupils in Year 5 as they start to consider their onwards education.
We hold one at our Senior Boys and one at Senior Girls. These days are a great way for your child to explore everything that Claires Court has to offer and are an exciting opportunity to enjoy some taster lessons whilst meeting some new friends and our amazing teaching staff. There are no assessments on this day, it is designed to allow your son or daughter to really experience life at Claire Court to help in their decision making process.
Discovery Day for new Year 5 applicants for September 2026 will be in Spring 2025. A place can be booked through the form in our Open Event page or below on this page.
Taster Day for Entry Outside our Usual Entry Points
For admission outside our our key entry points, all pupils will be invited to spend a day with us for an interview and assessment, as well as having the opportunity to meet their future cohort and experience lessons at Claires Court. This day is as much about prospective pupils assessing us as it is about us assessing them.
It’s really important for pupils who are considering a transfer from another school to ensure they can see themselves at Claires Court. We do our utmost to ensure that the day is an accurate reflection of a normal school day.
