Hot lunch is available during most holidays, and can be booked in advance of the holiday, or if preferred packed lunches can be brought in.
Chilled water is freely available throughout the day, we kindly request that parents provide a drinks bottle for their child. This is to assist in our commitment to reduce single use plastic cups.
*We operate a nut free environment, so please do not include products containing nuts, lupin flour or kiwi in your child's packed lunch.
Please don’t allow your child to bring in phones or other electronics - if they are brought in they will need to be switched off and kept in the child’s bag.
All children from Year 1 have the opportunity to join a swimming session (depending on pool and lifeguard availability) as part of the Holiday Club day.
Swimming at Holiday Club is all about building confidence and maximising fun in the water. Parents regularly tell us these sessions are a perfect complement to any swim lesson programme. The sessions are run by qualified swim teachers from Let's Dive In Swim School. Younger children are taught basic water confidence covering a range of skills including moving through the water, breathing in water and flotation, using age appropriate games and activities. The older children develop their skills in the water through challenges and activities such as Rookie Lifeguard, raft building, water polo, speed swimming, diving and relay races. There is a small charge to access the session which can be booked online when booking the main holiday club. These sessions are not available as one off sessions and must be booked as part of the Holiday Club.
We recognise that both staff and children are vulnerable to infections/illness and therefore ask parents/carers to refrain from bringing their children when they are unwell. We operate within the guidance on infection control in schools and other childcare settings provided by the Health Protection Agency. If your child tests positive for Covid, or has covid symptoms, please do not send them in to the club.
We require written consent to administer any medication. If your child requires prescribed medication it is recommended that you obtain a spare inhaler/epipen/Piriton etc so that one can remain on site with us. If your child requires medication and they do not bring it with them you will be refused entry – your child’s safety is our paramount concern.
We have a nurse on site every day and any first aid is always administered by a qualified first aider, who will decide the most appropriate course of action. A written accident report will be available to the parent on collection if a child is involved in an accident. Should a child need to go to hospital their parents will be immediately contacted. An escort will be provided if the parents are unable to get to the club.
All children will be signed and timed in and out on a register. Children may be collected at any time during the session, but please let us know in advance either by speaking to us in person at drop-off or by email on the day. Children may only be collected by a nominated person, it is therefore vital that you let the club know if a different person is to collect. You can set a password on the booking system.
All concerns should be made to the Holiday Club Manager or directly to Claires Court. If you wish to take matters further, please visit the School's Complaint Procedure for further guidance.
Claires Court has detailed policies and procedures in accordance with ISA standards, which are available to all parents. Please ask if you wish to see them or have copies emailed to you.
Please do speak to any of our staff or email us if you have any queries or concerns. We are here to ensure your child gets the most out of their time with us and to help working parents by putting your mind at ease whilst being away from your child.
