This week Junior Girls year 2 had a relaxing visit from Mindfulness coach, Neil Seligman who taught the girls several techniques to help them unwind.
In the lesson, they practiced ‘finger breathing’ by inhaling while tracing up their fingers, then exhaling while tracing down. Another activity was ‘butterfly fingers’ which saw the students making a butterfly shape with their hands then matching their breaths to the butterfly’s wings flapping.
The children commented on how much they enjoyed this and said they would try this in future to help them focus and reset.
The session ended with a mindful meditation, where the girls were able to relax in a way they felt comfortable. The girls left the session feeling, calmer, relaxed, and refreshed.
