Senior Boys and Girls took part in the Intermediate Mathematical Challenge hosted by UK Mathematics Trust where they took home 20 awards. The awards won included 17 bronze awards across Year 9-11 Boys and Girls, as well as:
- Silver won by Jonah
- Gold won by Ayshmit
- Gold won by Aryan
The Mathematical Challenge is intended to encourage mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems.
By winning Gold awards, Ayshmit and Aryan have qualified for the next round of the competition which will take place later this month.
Joscelin Lothian, Head of Mathematics at Claires Court Senior Boys, said: “I am so happy that many of our senior pupils took home awards and enjoyed taking part in the competition. The enthusiasm we’ve seen from our pupils while working from home has been incredible. Well done to everyone who took part, and good luck to Ayshmit and Aryan in the next round.”
