The Claires Court CCF led Remembrance day services for both Senior Boys, Girls and Sixth Form, the first time our Combined Cadet Force has managed this important commemoration for the fallen.
At Senior Boys, the front of school tarmac provide a suitable parade ground, where led by School Staff Instructor Stephen Larkin, the CCF read an extract from Laurence Binyon's poem For the Fallen, read out the names of the 12 Maidenhead College former pupils who lost their lives during WW1, and stood to attention with the rest of the school and staff during the 2-minute silence. Two students, Sam W and Harri C played the Last Post and brought the proceedings to a close with a spirited Reveille.
At our College Avenue site the students and staff from Nursery, Girls and Sixth Form assembled on the field at 10.45am where CCF led a service and laid a wreath to remember all who fell during World War 1. We know of 14 past students and their names were read by senior members of the CCF. The last post sounded and everyone fell silent for 2 minutes with a mixture of emotions.

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
