U18 tennis v Bradfield
Words simply do not describe the level of tennis that was on display this week and I am immensely proud of the boys. Claires Court took three wins from the four singles matches meaning they had a 3-1 lead over Bradfield before the doubles. Bradfield won both doubles matches so we were level on scores. After a quick double check of the rules, another doubles match had to be played, consisting of a player from each of the doubles (C Barr & J Deaner) playing a tie-break to 10. Claires Court were 5-2 down, brought it back to 8-8...and then went on to win 10-8 in what can only be described as the best tennis Miss Cox has witnessed!! A crowd of international athletes & members of the public and parents from our school were blown away with the high standard and supported our boys in the final nail-biting moments of our match is something to really be proud of. We play Sir William Borlase in the next round, and are one step away from the National Finals! Squad C Barr , K Henderson, J Deaner, A Borisov.
U15 tennis v Wellington
The U15 boys moved one step closer to the regional finals after a fine display of tennis against Wellington. They won all of their matches with ease, not even dropping a game. The boys have a tough match against Charters on Monday, which if they win will stand them in a strong position moving forwards. Squad (J Deaner, A Borisov, S Fussell ) Missing from the match but also part of the squad J Hyslop.
