Claires Court Year 11 students have excelled this year, surpassing the performance from 2019 pre-covid, the year they entered Year 7.
This cohort, who began their senior school journey during the pandemic, has achieved remarkable results! Overall, 96% of all students achieved five or more GCSE grades 9-4 (including Maths and English), 44% of grades achieved were 9-7 and 68% of grades were 9-6. Incredibly there has been a 33% increase in the number of 9-7 grades achieved from 2023.
James Wilding, Academic Principal said, “This is the generation of children whose secondary schooling has encompassed the pandemic and all the other challenges of growing up in an uncertain world. Claires Court's GCSE, and other Level 2 results, are outstanding covering 30 different subjects for both boys and girls. Our school's reputation is built upon the extraordinary range of co-curricular arts, sports and activities we offer, to a broad ability range of children drawn across all areas of society.
For 96% of our GCSE students to gain 5 or more GCSEs (including English and Maths at level 4 and above), and with 44% graded 7 to 9, we've really been able to demonstrate just how strong our academic offer is across the huge range of opportunities our families seek. ”
Steve Richards, Head of Seniors, Boys and Girls added, “We are so proud of these young people who have achieved a record breaking set of results. These headline figures represent countless individual success stories, which are equally as important as the overall results.
As our students have demonstrated, with excellent teaching, dedication, and sheer hard work, it is possible to excel academically while also participating in a world-class range of extracurricular activities. Our students will embark on the next chapter of their education as well-rounded and high-achieving young people with the confidence and character to continue excelling throughout their careers. Congratulations to everyone celebrating their personal GCSE successes today.”
