The Claires Court A-level class of 2024 are celebrating today with an excellent set of results across the board from 22 A levels and four BTECs.
Results to note, with 100% grades A*-C, are Art, Textiles, Drama, English Literature, History, Spanish and the EPQ. 53% of all grades achieved were A*-B and 77% A*-C. Separately, both BTEC Sport and ICT achieved 100% Distinction to Merit.
Gary Hope, Head of Sixth Form said, “Congratulations to all students in Year 13 at Claires Court Sixth Form who have yet again received outstanding results! I am so pleased that the vast majority have secured a place at university with a handful of students off on exciting gap year adventures or starting employment. The Russell Group proves to be very popular again this year with courses including Neuroscience, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Sciences, Geography and Philosophy.
Sport is strong at Claires Court and this is shown in the number of excellent results in BTEC Sport. Three students, who each received distinctions in their BTEC, are going to study Exercise and Sports Sciences at Exeter, Nottingham Trent and Cardiff Metropolitan.
We are proud of the breadth of subjects we offer to suit all interests, combined with plentiful opportunities outside the classroom; this all testifies to a rich and diverse student community where individuals are successful in pursuing their own goals. Irrespective of their next step destinations, all our students will be missed and we wish them every success in the future!”
Academic Principal James Wilding added, “The 2024 academic results at A Level and BTEC are excellent, seeing a welcome return for most to uninterrupted teaching and learning through their GCSE and A Level years. Many of our successful candidates have also been able to take a full part in developing their arts, community, creative, musical and sporting development, as evidenced by their recent outstanding performances at Henley Royal Regatta and Brit champs. Their genuine willingness to give back to the school and wider community is their most notable achievement, and I am delighted to celebrate their successful conclusion of their school studies.
I wish them all the very best as they take those next steps in their careers, be that into employment, apprenticeship or indeed for most, university for further study.”
