We are absolutely delighted to celebrate with our Year 13 students today as they enjoy the fruits of their hard work, and resilience in exceptional times. 76% of all grades gained were A*-B and 43% A*-A.
Sciences feature highly with 82% achieving A*-B in Biology, Physics 83% A*-B, Psychology 83% A*B and Chemistry 91% A*-C. Humanities are equally as strong with 83% achieving A*-B in History and in Politics, 80% achieved A*-B. In Maths, 100% attained grades A*-B and in Further Maths (AS level), 100% were awarded A grades.
In a fiercely competitive market, 88% gained their first choice of university course with popular destinations including Exeter, Manchester, Leeds and Southampton. Courses pursued are diverse ranging from medicine, law and engineering to fashion marketing, film and tv and music technology.

I would like to congratulate all of our remarkable Year 13 students on their results today and also applaud the resilient and determined attitude they adopted, rising as they did to the challenges of a unique and unpredictable period. Focused work on their part, in partnership with our experienced, creative and dedicated teaching team, means they are very well prepared for the next stage in their lives.
Alongside their peers, Claires Court student leaders have accomplished exceptional results with Head Girl Hannah Straw achieving 3 A* in History, Maths and Psychology plus an A in her EPC with Head Boy, Byron Ewing also achieving 3 A* in Biology, Chemistry and Maths.
Hannah will be leaving Claires Court to study law at Southampton University this year and Byron will be taking up a Health Care Placement, at a local Epilepsy Centre, before applying to study medicine at university next year.
Owen Mashingaidze, Deputy Head Boy, moved to the UK from Zimbabwe in 2019 specifically to study and achieved A in Chemistry, A* in Maths, A* in Physics and a B in his EPQ. Owen will be studying Computer Science at Royal Holloway, University of London.
Deputy Head Girl Emma Rendell, will be studying Paramedicine at Surrey University after securing an A in Biology, B in Psychology and C in Chemistry. She has spent the day taking part in some celebratory paddle boarding!

I am delighted for all of our A level and BTEC students today, receiving their results for qualifications studied over a 2 year period that saw such disruption to their normal way of working throughout 2020 and 2021. And those results were very much what they hoped for, with ¾ gaining A*, A and B, providing entry into the university departments they had chosen for their undergraduate studies. A few are taking time out to work for a year and to consider their options; there are some superb employment opportunities available for talented 18 year olds, and we look forward to supporting those alternative options too.
He concluded, “Our school's incredible strength and understanding of how to use technology to support remote learning meant no-one missed lessons, was left behind or isolated, a testament to the remarkable commitment their teachers displayed throughout Year 12 and 13 to keep their academic studies on track and up to speed. We've been a ‘Google in Education’ school since 2012, and continue to pioneer in digital learning for the future as well. I wish our successful Sixth Form student cohort of 2021 the very best for their futures; they are highly skilled and motivated, and are great ambassadors for the education we provide."
