Added Value is Key for GCSE success

Claires Court students and staff were celebrating a fantastic set of GCSE results this morning with students making outstanding progress from their starting points.  Despite the national press commentary, English and Maths have been stand out subjects for Claires Court for added value ensuring the majority received higher grades than expected.  Overall, 97% of all students achieved five or more GCSE grades 9-4 (including Maths and English) and 63% of grades were 9-6.

James Wilding, Academic Principal and Head of Senior Boys said,

We are exceptionally proud of each of our students who have achieved not only their own personal goals but have contributed to a 24% increase on our 9-6 grades in 2019 (pre-pandemic).  Our whole philosophy is built around the needs of the child, allied to high quality and inclusive teaching, so whilst we are celebrating the top line stats, we celebrate even more the individual successes and how this has enabled them to take their study into their chosen A level and BTEC courses.

Steve Richards, Head of Senior Girls added,

The collective results from our Seniors are fantastic and demonstrate not only the commitment from our students to work hard but the quality of our teaching too. We value each individual and know that they will be pleased with their achievements. They can now enjoy the remnants of summer before the next step of their educational journey begins.
